Carpentry is a skilled profession and can take time to learn, but once you have mastered the basics, you are well on your way. The estimated salary for a Carpenter ranges from anywhere from £20,000 to £30,000 + for experienced Carpenters.
The types of jobs that you will be required to carry out as a Carpenter include:
Taking measurements to determine the required materials
Cutting, shaping and smoothing lumber and other materials
Building door & window frames, staircases & frame buildings
Carving and assembling furniture
Conducting repairs and maintenance on existing carpentry
A Carpenters typical day will start at approximately 8AM and finish by around 3PM, the work is physical, so you will need a good work ethic and be able to cope with the physical demands. Most of a Carpenters work will be within domestic, however, there are certain areas where Carpentry can take you outside of the domestic market such as working on highways and bridges.
The construction industry as a whole is an area that is thriving despite the uncertain times. So why not try your hand at one of our Carpentry courses and see if it suits you? Our courses are designed for those that have very little or no previous experience in Carpentry and are a great way to start your venture into the Carpentry trade. Not only will you be taught by an experienced Carpenter in a first-class training environment, but you will also take home a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Carpentry once you complete the course!
