Here at Eastern Region Training we provide the CITB Site Safety Plus Health & Safety Awareness course enabling you can obtain a CSCS card.
In 2015, CSCS changed the way that you obtain your CSCS Green Card. To gain the CSCS Green Card, candidates must now pass an approved Health & Safety Training course and the relevant Health, Safety & Environment Test.
The approved Health & Safety Training courses include the following:
- CITB Site Safety Plus Health & Safety Awareness
- IOSH Working Safe
- QCF Level 1 in Health & Safety
- NPORS Site Safety Awareness.
You need only take one of the above courses alongside the test to gain the CSCS Green Card.
The Health & Safety Test that you take needs to be relevant to your occupation and to the card that you are looking at applying for (further guidance on this can be found on the CSCS website). Once you are ready to apply for your card you must ensure that this Health & Safety Test has been passed within the last 2 years, if it hasn’t then you will need to take the test again.
CSCS stipulate that it doesn’t matter which way round you complete the Health & Safety Training course and the Health & Safety test, it is perhaps good practice though to complete the course first as this will give you a good basis of knowledge so that you are ready for your test.
Once you’ve passed the Training Course and the test, you can then apply for your card. This can be done by calling CSCS and doing it over the phone, or by sending off a postal application.
