The students from Raedwald Trust have exceeded expectation during their 1st term with Eastern Region Training.
The Raedwald Trust is a partnership of Alternative Provisions and bespoke pathways serving children and young people requiring a different route to success rather than mainstream education. Eastern Region Training & The Raedwald Trust have been in partnership for over a year now, with the aim being to provide construction and other vocational based qualifications to the students from the Raedwald Trust. The Level 1 BTEC in Construction that the students study whilst with us, provides them with the opportunity to try their hand at various construction tasks including bricklaying, roofing, plumbing, carpentry and more so that each student can have a go at multiple tasks and find what suits them. We have also introduced a Level 1 BTEC in Vocational Training during term 1, with the students given the opportunity to study a basic car-mechanics course using the car kindly donated by Whip Street Motors.
During the 1st term, we were delighted that of the 25 students that studied their qualification, 18 were successful in achieving the Level 1 Award in their course discipline. This pass rate exceeds our expectations and is testament to the students hard work whilst with us. Those that have not quite achieved during term 1 will be given the opportunity to continue to work towards their qualification during term 2, whilst those that have achieved will now start working towards their ‘Certificate’, a natural progression route from the Award that they have already gained.
We’d like to thank the students and staff at the Raedwald Trust for all their hard work during term 1 and look forward to working with them all over the coming months!
