Since January 2019, Eastern Region Training have worked in partnership with the Raedwald Trust. The Trust provide alternative, bespoke pathways for children and young people who require a different route and some additional support to reach success both in their personal and professional life. In particular, we have worked closely with the students from Lindberg Campus and Westbridge Academy to deliver a BTEC Level 1 Award in Construction. During their first term, the course focused predominantly on Brickwork skills, with some students also progressing onto the Carpentry unit.
The partnership has proved to be a huge success and we are delighted to announce that 9 students successfully passed the course and have achieved the Level 1 Award. In addition to this, 7 students also gained a Level 1 Certificate in Construction, a qualification that supersedes the award. These achievements are not only testament to the fantastic team and training programme that the students have been surrounded by, but the effort and determination they have given in achieving their respective qualifications. By achieving these qualifications, we hope it contributes towards a more positive future for these young learners with better job opportunities.
Our course tutor, Andrew Grimwood, said that he felt the course was “Challenging for the students but extremely rewarding” He went on to say that “the students exceeded his expectations and produced some excellent work whilst on the course”
We are very proud of all of the students and would like to give them special recognition and a huge congratulations!
