SSSTS Refreshers can be confusing, when do you need to sit the course? how often? how long is the course? if these are some of your questions then you’ve come to the correct article. If you have undergone SSSTS training in the past, you will be aware that this training expires after 5 years of the course date. You must now complete the SSSTS Refresher course before your certificate expires, if you sit the course after your certificate has expired no will not be eligible to renew your certificate, instead you will have to sit the full course again.
So what exactly will be included during the 1-day refresher course? Delegates will cover topics they should already be familiar with such as Asbestos, Manual Handling and Risk Assessment Techniques. You will also be introduced to any new legislation or current regulations which are practiced within the workplace. At the end of the course, the instructor will set a small test to ensure that the refresher training has been effective and that delegates are up to date with their knowledge. Once you have attended and passed the SSSTS Refresher course, you will then receive a new SSSTS certificate which is valid for another 5 years.
